The Princess Speaks.......Again

Wednesday, December 11, 2002
It's snowing here. Snowing hard. The weather man is calling for an inch or two ~ methinks he should look out the window instead of at his doppler radar thingie, we got an inch or two a couple of hours ago. He also said it was going to turn to rain around midnight. I guess 8:00 is around midnight somewhere. ;-)

I went shopping today. Christmas shopping. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I got a lot of gifts and I can honestly say I'm almost done. If this snow keeps up and I don't work tomorrow, I might get some things wrapped. I bought myself a Mickey Mouse t-shirt ~ red, with long sleeves and a Christmas scene on the front. And then I splurged at Yankee Candles and bought 6 tarts ~ lovely smells like cinnamon and Christmas Eve and a raspberry sorbet that I can't wait to try. They make the whole house smell so nice when they melt. I've used up two tea-lights in the last two days. ;-)

We got home just before the weather got icky. I came in and made phone calls and had a glass of wine and sat in my comfy chair and read the mail. I got a couple of Christmas cards, and a birthday card from an old friend. Then I fell asleep for a bit, it was a crazy sort of shopping trip ~ and I've been tired a lot lately. I went with my niece, we go every year to the mall and do our shopping, whether we need to or not, and every year it's an adventure. This year we got in the wrong lane to go from the mall to the bookstore ~ i needed gift certificates for the kids ~ and ended up on the university campus and couldn't go out the way we came in and then we were all turned around and didn't know where we were. Ooops. Okay, we were a little late getting back but no problem...... not for us, anyway.

It's a wonderful thing to feel that I can say what I want here and not have the snerts peering over my shoulder. I didn't realize how constricted I felt until I wanted to write about my very first Christmas tree and didn't feel like I could because others would be judging and reporting back to someone else. I will write about the tree another time ~ it's sooooooo cute.

Anyway. The Princess is back and ready to kick ass. Because, ~~ waves to Greg ~~ I am my mother's daughter. And I'm damed proud of it, too.

so the princess declares 11:47 PM
