The Vacuum Ate MY KNITTING!!!!!!............
Holy cow! What a day it's been. I had a domestic moment (actually I have those often lately since I'm unemployed) and decided to vacuum the rugs. I've been knitting away on Bear's sweater and I have a tendency to drop my knitting where-ever I happen to last be working on it. This morning I was on the sofa, and so were the needles. One sleeve, very close to the end of the needle, and the yarn sort of drooping off the edge - I tend to leave the ball of yarn on the floor in front of me just to make it easier to work with - no one ever bothers it and so I'm just used to leaving it there.
Did I think to pick it up before swooping madly by with the Kirby? Uh, no. Hee. Oh, my God, the thing nearly ate the whole knitting needle, yarn and all! I'm standing there pulling on the sleeve as the stitches are sliding off and up into the vacuum, yelling "NO NO NO! BAD KIRBY! LET GO!" Uh, duh, suddenly I realized that if I just TURN IT OFF this might stop. Quickly hit the switch, and the monster stops sucking up my yarn - but is it gonna let go? Oh, no! I had to pull the knitting back out of the mouth of the monster and then unwind the yarn from the sweeper thingie. Holy cow!
But I saved the sleeve - I will only have to pull out like two rows and reknit them to make it all better. But I fear that Kirby now. What will it try to eat next? Small children? We have grandchildren - I think perhaps we shall have to start locking the door of the spare room where we store this creature. Will locks be enough? Has it tasted blood? I am frightened - is that a roaring that I hear from down the hall? EEEEEEEK!
~~evil grin~~ oh, okay, i'm fine. Heehee.

so the princess declares 6:15 PM
